Mean field games of controls: Finite difference approximations

چکیده

We consider a class of mean field games in which the agents interact through both their states and controls, we focus on situations generic agent tries to adjust her speed (control) an average (the is made neighborhood state space). In such cases, monotonicity assumptions that are frequently theory do not hold, uniqueness cannot be expected general. Such model lead systems forward-backward nonlinear nonlocal parabolic equations; latter supplemented with various kinds boundary conditions, particular Neumann-like conditions stemming from reflection underlying controled stochastic processes. The present work deals numerical approximations above megntioned systems. After describing finite difference scheme, propose iterative method for solving equations arise discrete setting; it combines continuation method, Newton iterations inner loops bigradient like solver. used simulating two examples. also make experiments behaviour algorithm when parameters vary.

Socio-economic applications of finite state mean field games.

In this paper, we present different applications of finite state mean field games to socio-economic sciences. Examples include paradigm shifts in the scientific community or consumer choice behaviour in the free market. The corresponding finite state mean field game models are hyperbolic systems of partial differential equations, for which we present and validate different numerical methods. We...

Mean Field Games

We survey here some recent studies concerning what we call mean-field models by analogy with Statistical Mechanics and Physics. More precisely, we present three examples of our mean-field approach to modelling in Economics and Finance (or other related subjects. . . ). Roughly speaking, we are concerned with situations that involve a very large number of “rational players” with a limited inform...

Discrete mean field games

In this paper we study a mean field model for discrete time, finite number of states, dynamic games. These models arise in situations that involve a very large number of agents moving from state to state according to certain optimality criteria. The mean field approach for optimal control and differential games (continuous state and time) was introduced by Lasry and Lions [LL06a, LL06b, LL07]. ...

Accuracy of Mean Field Approximations for Atomsand

We estimate the accuracy of the mean eld approximation induced by the Thomas-Fermi potential for the ground state energy of atoms and molecules. Taking the Dirac exchange correction into account, we show the error to be of the form O(Z 5=3?) + D for any < 2=231 as the total nuclear charge Z becomes large. D is an electrostatic energy of the diierence density that measures the deviation of the m...

Some Estimates for Finite Difference Approximations

Some estimates for the approximation of optimal stochastic control problems by discrete time problems are obtained. In particular an estimate for the solutions of the continuous time versus the discrete time Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman equations is given. The technique used is more analytic than probabilistic. Key words, diffusion process, Markov chain, dynamic programming, finite difference, Hamil...
